Architecture studio Pend, in collaboration with Gloss Projects, has crafted a pair of mews homes that defy conventional expectations. The studio's vision for Canon Mews was to reinterpret the classic mews typology. Reclaimed brick, salvaged from the site and meticulously cleaned, pays homage to the existing mews properties while adding a layer of authenticity. Soft, round-edged bullnose bricks at the entrances create a refined welcome, while timber-clad vestibules and garage doors echo the wooden frontages of neighboring homes. The upper storey, clad in red zinc, provides a contemporary twist, offering a striking visual contrast to the reclaimed brickwork.
